You
are a group of Geologists. The
Essential question:
How will you explain and visually represent the formation of your rock?
Guiding Questions
1. What rock group and type will your group give a presentation on?
2. How is the rock formed? How is the rock classified? (Use a diagram to visually represent the process/cycle)
3. What is the type of your rock and some related rocks?
Process:
1. You will use your textbook, the internet and notes taken from your textbook to create a 5 page PowerPoint presentation with your group. See sample format.
2. After you have completed collecting and recording information on your notes you need to fill out a PowerPoint story board. Get them from your teacher.
3. Finally when your storyboard has been approved by your teacher you may begin, as a group, on your PowerPoint project.

Evaluation:
1. Complete your required five slide PowerPoint. Use the rubric to make certain you have the required components in your PowerPoint slideshow.
2. Practice your presentation!
3. Present your PowerPoint slideshow on presentation day.

Extension:
Create a sixth PowerPointlessness slide if you have finished your five page required PowerPoint slideshow, compared it with the rubric and practiced your presentation. Use all the bells and whistles you'd like to for the sixth slide. Challenge yourself to connect this slide to your topic. This slide will not be graded.
